Dear Brethrens,
A healthy marriage relationship requires at least 60 minutes of communication a day. This is to ensure the continual development & deepening of the relationship between the spouses. Take a minute to think: How do your spouse would feel if the only time you communicate with each other was in an emergency?
How familiar!! We tend to treat God in precisely in this manner. A deep relationship with God takes time & effort. It cannot be built on an emergency basis. Acquaintance with God is not made in a hurry. Do you think God will bestow His gifts on the casual or hasty comer & goer? You should know the answer.
So, we need to change our attitude toward prayer. We need to acknowledge that it is a process that builds our relationship with God. We need to learn to cultivate a daily prayer time, in order to unleash the spiritual potential to completely transform our lives – From an ordinary to a victorious life, and our dwelling in the realm of the miraculous.
In James 4:8, it stated that “Come near to God and He will come near to you.” Let us ask God to strengthen our resolve to become a pray-er in the coming months.
Today, we will focus our prayer on ourselves:
- Thank Jesus that we are a born again believer of Jesus Christ.
- Tell Jesus that we are not satisfied with our current stage of spiritual life. We want more from God.
- Tell Jesus that you are tired of playing church and being religious. You want to cultivate an intimate relationship with God. Ask the Holy Spirit to tear down the “mask” that you have been wearing for so long.
- Tell Jesus that you want to be a pray-er and ask the Holy Spirit to help you become one.
- Ask the Holy Spirit to help set your priority right and set you free from hectic schedule that do not add to your spiritual life.
- Simply ask God to deal with your laziness.
In Roman 8:26, it said, “Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groaning which cannot be uttered.” So if you run out of thing to pray, I’d encourage you to pray in tongue.
May the Lord bless you,
Johnny
